Default My 06 Trailer Plug (No LT or RT But I Got Tail Lamps)

I called Lithia in Billings, MT and they said I need a new BCM (Body Control Module). $1100 installed, but I can't believe that. What happened was the cord for the trailer lights drug on the ground, and it shorted out. Why the frick there isn't a breaker.

Anyway, am I looking at a new BCM, or is there a fuse somewhere that can be replaced somewhere other than the PCM.

I find that highly suspect... If it was the BCM more then just the turn signals would be fubar. They work on the truck still right?

IIRC, there was something in the 06 where you only got three chances to have a short on the trailer connection and it popped something in the fuse box that would have to be replaced. I don't think it was the BCM, but it was a pretty costly part. And yes everything on the truck would still work. I'll do some digging for ya.

Isn't it the TIPM that faults in the 06, and simply needs reset (and reflashed for higher amperage) by the dealer??? Its the fuse box under the hood that gets replaced. I believe MRaynor is correct, that you only get three tries before it needs replaced; but the dealership should know this.

The trailer plug is isolated from the truck's wiring...one should not affect the other.

I got two fuses, RT and LT. No trailer fuses I could find.

I couldn't find a "Body Control Module" in my repair manual. All things electrical (besides engine controls) run through the TIPM (Total Integrated Power Module).
