fluid dampener and it was supose to be; but i did not do it myself. the more im learning the less i like it you know . it seam a 6.5 is just alittle infearer to others and some time i wonder why i hang on to the hope this truck wont be any more of a money pit than it allready has been. it seams like even in its best its just a converted big block. i work on a army base and serval of my freinds are mechcanics in a humvee shop and im learning more every day and its bad none of them drive GMs, dodge and fords are in the employees lot and 6.2-6.5s in the shop ???

if you build it with aftermarket parts they will run fine. get yourself a steel crank, military block, splayed studded mains, headstuds, and fluidampr. get the higher flowing water pump, clean rad , dmax fan, and a larger turbo that doesn't create excessive drive pressure when boosting up to 18 psi and a intercooler. plus some gauges to moniter engine vitals. then try and blow up this engine. it will be hard!!

In fearer to the others is a bit of a overstatement when you look at what every one else was building at the time and there is no such thing as a gas conversion. Heath is running 500 to a basically stock 6.5 bottom end with the accept-ion of a aftermarket cast crank and studs. My guess is that if you are loosing pistons one is they are low quality aftermarket or the cylinder tolerances are not being held tight enough. You cant put them together like a gas burner as Bill Heath told me there not a slap d**k engine.

im aware that bill is running a hybrd, some of these parts came from him. so with that said i feel a little down, u know going on the fourth and finale rebuild. where in the heck can i get a list of what isTRIED AND PROVEN part wise and clearenace wise [ my last gasser was a 495 hp 327] not saying im great or anything and yes i am a 5 year novice to the 6.2-6.5 but i feel like i'm looseing this battle or so my wife says. i am sure with some help i THINK i can pull this off or not. what have i got to loose???$$$$
