f-150 stock tach help,
I put a Cummins 4 cyl into a 01 F150 2wd. Its a fun truck still in progress.
Throughout my conversion I've wanted to maintain the factory ford look. Gauge-wise the only thing left is the tach. I got a Dakota tachometer interface for the "W" connection on the alternator. So, the Dakota gets pwr with key, Ground, input from the alt. (pulse). then sends the corrected signal to the tach.
If someone has a real schematic ,
My problem is what instrument cluster input wire or pin goes to the tach for signal?
Thanks!

The wore you are looking for is the one for the cam position sensor I believe. Not the crank. The stock gauge reads off the cam position gear if memory serves me right. Also it will require a little tinkering because you will need to send it a 24 tooth pulse I believe.
I found a pcm pin-out for the 96 model year and it is different. It does show a tach wire though so If I can find a 01 pin-out I will tap it in. got the wire run, just gotta know which one to hook to
thanks
thanks
