just put 5 in straight pipe to a stack on my truck and the drone in 5 and 6 gear is pretty loud was wondering how much a muffler would help or if it would help at all

 

i would imagine it would help quite a bit, my friend has a stack like mine but his has a muffler on it, very noticable difference both inside and outside the cab.

 

I put in a areo turbine 40/40L which is a resonated muffler and it did cut down on the drone but it didn't really make any difference on sound outside of truck. It still has a nice sound. I just don't know if it will help any on stacks. You could always give them a call and see what they have to say. Here is a link Home page

 

i am considering the turbine. But would FTE Resonator 5" cut the drone down and not effect the sound

 

I have heard from many people that in this situation a resonator is the way to go. they say it will cut down drone and not affect the sound that much.
