hi everybody my buddy finally realized he need a fuel press gauge after his first inj pump and he can get an autometer mech gauge 0-100 psi for cheap but then he has to get that $120 isolator and i know first hand those isolators are a pain and hes wandering if he would have less headaches with a 0-30 elec press gauge for $200 what do you guys think thanks for reading

 

well, i run a auto meter 0-30 lb boost gauge and use it as my fuel pressure gauge. Had it now for 3 yrs not a single issue. I just ran the copper line kit they sell which is like 13 bucks, no isolator. after I hooked it up, i tried one of the priticol fuel pressure gauges TST had, my setup showed the exact same pressure all the way through the RPM range that the priticol did and i have maybe 30 bucks in it, not counting the steering column mount

 

interesting ive always wondered about using a boost gauge thanks for the input

 

Fuel in cab bad... Electronic gauge good simple terms but seriously I have both setups and prefer the electronic one hands down.

 

Running a Mech Gauge with No Isolator Voids the warranty.

 

I have my gauge mounted out on the hood open to the elements, where I can see it all the time, have no fuel coming into the cab and no isolator. The one that's on there right now is at least 2 years old and is a $15 cheapy 0-60psi mechanical gauge. The whole thing cost me at least $35 for everything it took to hook it up.

I won't use digital or dummy lights myself.

glow shift has an electric 2 1/16 gage thats 7 color option for 60 bucks on sale now i got me one and it works grate. it has every thing to install it

 

Its just personal preferance, I like mechanical gauges always have, had too many problems with electric ones.

We bought some liquid filled industrial gauges for cheap out of Grainger, plumbed without an isolator, and yes fuel in the cab, they work fine.

Pressure is pressure, the gauge does not know the differance between fuel,air,water,oil, its all the same to it.

 

i run a autometer elec. gauge and never had a problem with it.
