Default oxy-gasoline

has anyone ever used a oxy-gasoline cutting system?

i have been doing research since i happened to see something about them just wondering if any one had personal experiance

do you mean oxy-acetylene? or is there something i havent heard of?

no oxy -gasoline. bascily it use regular pump gas pressurized and sent through a torch head. from what i have found they clame it cuts the same as acetylene up to 2.5" then it is faster.
they also clame it cuts smoother. the one company i found has a 2.5 gal bottle that they claim will cut as much as a 250cu.ft. acetylene bottle.

i was just wondering if anybody had first hand experiance

never heard of it. i dont like gas. i like the smell of acetylene though

the set-up im looking at is around $2k with 50' hoses.


p.s. i dont enjoy acetylene so much after i got a good whif up the nose

dam my setup cost me $100. its old but it works. fried my neck with it and i love it but gas woulda done the same maybe worse. i think acetylene smells great. its an almost exotic smell

Did you sniff glue as a kid ? Just kidding, to each his own I think sticky green skunk bud smells exotic myself. I'd sure rather buy a couple gallons of gas than a bottle of Acytelene though.

my ag mech class did some math and not counting set-up cost or oxygen if you cut for 50hrs a week using this system for a full bottle of gas at $8 and acytelene at $80(my guess i havent filled in awhile) this would save you like $320 a week.
