oxy-gasoline
has anyone ever used a oxy-gasoline cutting system?
i have been doing research since i happened to see something about them just wondering if any one had personal experiance |
Didn't know such a thing existed :pca1:
|
do you mean oxy-acetylene? or is there something i havent heard of?
|
no oxy -gasoline. bascily it use regular pump gas pressurized and sent through a torch head. from what i have found they clame it cuts the same as acetylene up to 2.5" then it is faster.
they also clame it cuts smoother. the one company i found has a 2.5 gal bottle that they claim will cut as much as a 250cu.ft. acetylene bottle. i was just wondering if anybody had first hand experiance |
never heard of it. i dont like gas. i like the smell of acetylene though :tu:

here is a link to one of the places i am looking at.
Petrogen | Petrogen Oxy-Gasoline Cutting Systems Home Page the set-up im looking at is around $2k with 50' hoses. p.s. i dont enjoy acetylene so much after i got a good whif up the nose |
dam my setup cost me $100. its old but it works. fried my neck with it and i love it but gas woulda done the same maybe worse. i think acetylene smells great. its an almost exotic smell

my ag mech class did some math and not counting set-up cost or oxygen if you cut for 50hrs a week using this system for a full bottle of gas at $8 and acytelene at $80(my guess i havent filled in awhile) this would save you like $320 a week.

Have you priced the equipment yet ?
