i HAVE 86 Kenworth with 315 hp cummins, all of a sudden my throttle is sticking. It is in the injector pump some where, not in the linkages.
Will not throttle down once you press on the throttle unless you slap the throttle pedal, started doing it this morning going to pick up load of gravel.
Can any one help me with this?????

 

Sounds like the cable is getting corroded on the inside. Might be able to free it up with some heat and penetrating lube.

 

you can try to spray some penetrating oil on the linkage on the pump. if not i would say take it to a shop and have them look at it. there are internal linkages on these pumps and if something happens it will either be all or nothing. stick wide open or not go at all

 

i dont know anything about those pump but couldnt it be a gov problem also?
