What is everones complaint with craftman? What I know is kmart carries them now, so I bet they are made in china, and last i heard there customer service sucks. (cant return broken tools)

But does this mean that the tools are weaker? Tolerances are bigger? (ie. boxends are too big or too small, crestent wrenchs arent as tight as they could be)

What tool brands do ppl use? Besides snap on, matco, and harbor crap.

I havent bought tools in a really long time. I just hear more and more ppl sayin they are what they used too be

 

I stopped buying craftsman a long time ago when they gave me a broken ratchet to replace my broken ratchet. Then I bought some Husky till they went to hell. Luckily for me, I have more than enough. My Snap On are still my favorite hand tools though.

 

craftsman tools are just bad quality in my opinion. you get what you pay for. i use mac snap on, matco or cornwell. I buy alot of my snap on etc tools at pawn shops for pennies on the dollar so i get snap on quality at harbor freight prices

 

I use them all and beat the **** out of em. If there is a tool that i use all the time like my 3/8 flex head ratchet, i'll spend the big bucks and buy snap on or mac.

I use a lot of crapsman sockets and beat em up pretty bad. They've never turned me down for a broken one yet.

 

i use almost all craftsman...if i break one i run it to sears and they throw it in a bucket under the counter and i get a new one off the shelf. never had any problems here. snap-on is nice and so is matco but for the price of one wrench i can get a set of craftsmans and still be able to replace em just up the road and still have money left over for a burger and fries on the way home

 

They sell craftsman at K Mart because Kmart is owned by Sears, I don't think they're bad for the price, sure Mac and Snap On are nice but also about 5 times the price. Craftsman have a lifetime warranty as long as they are for personal use, so if you're returning them they ask what you do for a living, mechanics use your imagination

 

I got one of those 250 or 260 piece sets for Christmas a few years ago from craftsman and I don't have any complaints other than the cheap plastic snap together toolbox thing they came in kind of exploded when it met the front tire of my truck(thought I was turning tight enough when I apparently didn't ). Now I carry them in my truck all the time in a little metal toolbox that I got at a thrift store for a few bucks. I'm slowly organizing it with those socket rails when I have the cash to get them.

 

I mainly buy Mac tools. (my snap on rep is a double dipping kinda guy.) But for my road box its stuffed with anything cheap. Powerbuilt, harbor and some craftsman. But both my mac bboxes are full of mac!
