My dad is looking at a 6.4L Power Stroke. He's been a Chevy guy all his life but with the government bailing out GM he doesn't want to buy a Duramax plus he's not all that fond of the front end on them. So he sent me and my brother to check out a truck they saw online at a Ford dealer. It was a 2008 F-250 crew cab short box 6.4. We got there and started checking it out. Lift, 35s, S&B intake, DPF delete, and supposedly had bigger injectors. It only had like 30,000 miles on it. The guy brought it back to get the new 6.7L. So we started talking to the salesman and we take her out on a test drive and boy was she fast. Didn't have a chance to really get on it, but it was quick to say the least. After all said and done, $35,000. We also test drove a 2010 F-350 crew cab long box at another Ford dealer. It was all stock and you could definitely tell the difference between stock and the other modified one. It was still quick but not as fast as the F-250. It only had 7-8,000 miles on it. They were both Lariats but the F-350 didn't have the in dash screen. I am definitely buying one of these as soon as I have the money but my questions are what is there for problems or other issues that you owners have encountered? Also, besides the basic intake, exhaust and chip, what is there for aftermarket for the 6.4s?

 

SCT with tunes from River City Diesel Or Innovative. AFE intak, Flo pro/magnaflow exhaust. You'll be just fine with a 600 horse daily driver wth awesomeeconomy

I have a 2008 F250 6.4 powerstroke. I added a Banks 6 gun tuner and Banks air intake filtration system thinking this would improve my 14-15 mpg. I now get 11-12 mpg after install. If I install a turbo back delete/delete, will the Banks 6 gun tuner take care of the code throwing problem, or did I just waste my money? Will I have to purchase a different tuner?
