first off i'd like to say thanks guys for an awsome forum. i have a 1992 3406b cat engine ser. #3zj06--- which makes it a late model B motor. i have always thought that pretty much all the b motor parts were the same but recently (while looking for a used fuel inj. pump) a cat mech. told me that all b model fuel systems were different. having different cam lifts, spray nozzels, and piston tops. If anyone has info on this it would really help. p.s. this same cat mech. also used a die grinder on my turbo comp. fins and said it wouldnt hurt... so needless to say. i dont have alot of faith in him, but he does work for cat.

 

a grinder, wow!!!! as long as its from a 425 factory hp cat it will work fine, and run away from that guy!!!
