Anyone have any ideas on how to remove the diff on a front dana 44 axle without the spreader. Its on a gen II 1/2 ton dodge truck.

 

you can always get it out without the spreader, just use some prybars kinda under the side gears. but getting it back in without the case spread will be difficult, but it can be done. be even easier if the axle wasn't under the truck. otherwise you're trying to hold the ring up and get it in.
