Default 2002 front axle seal

hey guys ive got a buddy that wants me to change the front axle seal on his duramax, what kinda work are we talking here? is the cv shaft bolted to a flange and then the flange is mounted to the stub shafts on the diff with a big nut in the center? pull the nut off and swap out the seal and put it all back together? thats what i would assume but i really dont know.. any help would be appreciated.
