Default Downpipe leaks

I have a 96 powerstroke & my downpipe leaks but I have heard that you shouldnt put a round downpipe on them because you loose backpressure & the turbo has a harder time spoolin up. Is this true?

thats very arguable. but i beleive that the round downpipe lowers EGT, and gives more low and top end power, plenty of backpressure in the round dp. mine still has the flat pipe on it and I hate it, I think it flows like ****, and if you have an obs stroker that small turbo spools well anyways. good luck
