Default WHAT HIGHWAY TIRE IS GOOD

My truck came with 245/75/17 CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC well the rear tires wore out at 16,000 miles. Front tires will be changed next week they only lasted to 30,000 miles. I bought 265/70/17 FIRESTONE TRANSFORCE for the rear, They have a little better traction when the street is wet, but I still fish-tail, I think the FIRESTONE is only a little better, cause they are 1 inch wider, I'll put some 265/70/17 PIRELLI SCORPION STR next week see if they are better

You ever rotate your tires? I have only once had a set of tires not go over 50k... Every 3-5k rotate the fronts to back...

I have had good luck with Toyo AT's in that size...

I have had good luck with Michelins. I find they wear like iron as compared to the Goodrear Wranglers I had before them. But then again I dont drive hammer down and fishtail too much......

NO I haven't rotated my tires, BUT I would expect the fronts to wear quicker than the rear
MICHELIN are about $220 per tire !!!

You're gonna get what you pay for and you won't beat a Michelin as far as treadwear or ride quality

I paid $335 for the pair of FIRESTONE TRANSFORCE mounted & I paid $358 for the pair of PIRELLI SCORPIONS but I still have to pay for mounting. Just want good HIGHWAY TIRES at a fair price

Where did you see Michelins for only $220??

I will get 60,k out of this set of LTX's!! They have been great! Now, I did put it in the ditch once so now I have to wonder about Dr's comment . . . .

If I hadn't towed that heavy toy hauler across the country and back, I think I may have gotten 70,k out of those tires. When we got out to Virginia, I couldn't believe how bad the rear tires had worn. Even with all that tongue weight, I must have been slipping them quite a bit Because your rear tires drive you around, they will wear faster than the front. Rotate every 5,k to 8,k and you will even out the wear and get more miles out of a set of tires!!
