Question
Like marine says, possible, but not recommended. However there are certain mini speed boat setups were it could be used, they were real popular in the late 80's, small 2 seater glass boat with midsize outboards.
Heard a "story" today where a guy said he had a 75HP motor on a 14' Boat and was all the time racing larger boats on the lake , I just shook my head OK sure Buddy
When i was really thinking it would sink with that large of a motor ...... just courious

Not impossible, if the boat is rated for it.
Most smaller speed boats can handle it, the fast moving fishing boats can do it, and the aluminum river sleds, also.
Just depends on the type of boat. However, people have been known to do stupid things, and setting a too-big O/B on a too-small boat just scratches the surface.
