I just put a new fuel pump, 2 new fuel filters and 2 new batteries on my 1984 ford 6.9 liter IDI and for some reason it wont stay running. It will start up fine but after you get it on the road and drive it for a few minutes it acts like its starving for fuel and just dies on me. And after letting it sit on the road for a few minutes, I can come back and it`ll fire right up and go again for a while and then die again. Does anybody know what could be wrong with it? Any information is greatly appreciated.

 

how much fuel is in the tank/tanks? is the factory F/W seperator still hooked up?
