WTB a used one, ford? dodge? hmmmmm
Im a ford fan, I have 207k on my F150, but want more power and a 3/4ton, thinking an F250 or Ram 2500, but the 6L ford motor scares me, have not heard any good about it, the dodges seem to have a great rep, but not for the trans...
Any other insight here from those in the same situation? Im not looking new, and dont want the older noisy motors, looking for the quieter 03-06 models.
Thank you for any help.

The 6.0 scares me to but like the last poster said you do that to them there fine. If it was me I would go with a 7.3 psd or a Cummins. If it was just between the 6.0 or 6.4 and the Cummins I would go with the Cummins. It probably doesn't matter there all good engines.
YOU Guys giving out all this cummins advice is why I can never find a good quad cab short bed for sale and when it is there's 20 guys mud wrestling over it.
Hey all, took an 05 gmc duramax 2500 overnight, love the truck, it only gets 12mpg towing my 6'x12' cargo trailer empty, thats pretty sad, anyway to improve that if I bought the rig? Its a sweet truck with an edge chip already, is there anything else that can be done.
Appreciate it!

Nope. Those trucks aren't truly made for working, they are aimed at executives that just NEED a diesel. For best pulling mileage I'd go with a powerstroke standard. If u need auto, go with a cummins auto for towing. 12mpg is pathetic
