they will swap in with little to no problem but you will need a shim kit and a new crush sleeve to do the job

Is your truck 4wd? If I had known you were doing this I would have swapped my 4:10's for your 3:55's

your going need to swap them inthe front to, and i would pick up a shim kit cuz you might need shim the gears to get pinion to ride right on teh ring gear

are you swapping carriers? I'm not 100% sure on the dana 70 but on the Dana 80 the carrier split is 4.10 and up/3.55 and down ( I may have the up downs confused) The 3.55 and 4.10s use the same carrier on the Dana 60.

The Dana 60,70,80 uses shims to set the pinion depth and backlash on the R&P there are NO crushable spacers. The manual calls for a case spreader to get the carrier in and out of the housing. However some people have gotten them in and out with a few prybars and dead blow hammers. Its up to you. If you don't feel like buying one you can usually rent one. They are about 250-300 dollars if you buy one.

so your saying we will have to swap carriers too?
i dont see this being a big deal because you would have to take the ring gear off to.
