hey guys i gust got a 2001 dodge cummins and the guy that had it put a 1997 12 valve in here am i am looking were the RPM wire is on the truck so i can hook it up to the motor need pics pleas

The 24 valves went off the crank position sensor, and the 12 valves, I believe, went off the alternator.

Are you looking for the tach sensor?

It is mounted on the timing cover and reads off the damper. Mounts right under the water pump pulley

the 12v tach reads off the crank also, on the harmonic balancer, the sensor is mounted to the timing cover as 94 12valve stated
