my buddys 96 12 valve 2wd dually keeps stalling out.if you come to a complete stop with the truck in drive or reverse, it stalls. if you put it in neutral it stays running.once you get away from a stop it runs fine.i got an idea or 2 about the issue what do you guys think?

Sounds like maybe the idle speed is set too low. What kind of RPMs is he seeing? Should be around 750-800 with the truck in drive and the a/c on.

 

Idle speed, Governor springs may be too loose, or he may have a failing torque converter.

 

Sounds like idle speed to me.
