Default Sputter cough die

It's happening again. I will start the truck, let it idle for a few minutes then stick it in 2nd and let out the clutch. Once in a while it will cough and sputter and usually die. Pedaling the throttle at this time does no good. Last week it threw a code so I took it to the dealer. He just called to say it was a P0341 "engine sputter code" . In my next call to them they called it a Cam position sensor code...I dont know...

4K miles ago it was in to see the double dealer for this problem and they replaced the cam position sensor and fuel lift pump. The computer says my milage is 24 but I calculate 17.

Any ideas?...my warranty is almost dead

The Double Dealer replaced the injector pump 20K ago because they felt it was better to stick it to the warrenty for $1500 instead of replacing a $5 seal....new pump.

They are trying to tell me I need a $2500 clutch replacement because of the way I drive it (2nd gear starts)...I told them they were smoking crack if they thought I would believe a worn clutch would cause a engine to sputter and die.

Ideally we need to read the live data stream from the ecm when it stalls. If your are not maintaining rail pressure, you could have a bad injector, bad rail pressure sensor, or bad relief valve.

I got the truck back from trhe dealer and they found nothing wrong. This morning I was able to make it stall and die again. I started the truck and let it idle for 15 minutes. I got in and made a 2nd gear start dorve across the property and stopped again. during that short drive it stumbled slightly once or twice. I started out again after idling another few minutes. It stumbled, sputtered and died. Restarts easy. It never seems to do this while I am actively driving, only after I allow it to idle for a while.

Can the dealer attach a portable monitor to the ECM so I can log what it's doing?
