im always toyin under the hood of my truck and the other night i slipped and snapped off my boost elbow and i had to put the stock fitting back in. 17 psi isn't very efficient for keepin this pig cool, so right now i have the line plugged, but im also not a big fan of 50 psi, high drive pressures and a pegged egt gauge... the old boost elbow helped, but it wasn't adjustable n i couldn't get over like 25 psi
i'd like to adjust the wastegate itself to open at 35, but im not sure which way to go. do i wanna make the rod longer or shorter? i'd like to fix this the right way n not with a "presidential solution"

 

Dude just order a 16$/shipped adjustable boost elbow off of ebay and call it a day.

 

I have an adjustable elbow laying around somewhere. If I can find it it's yours.

 

I got an adjustable from ebay, for about 20 bucks including shipping. But as it turned out I didn't do enough research for a '94. Seems I can't use it without taping the turbo hosing...

there is a metal line at the back of your afc that is where your elbow goes

 

The elbow goes in the compressor housing that line is what controls the wasetgate. The line to the afc you want at full boost (no elbow).

I couldn't use the elbow on mine since it senses pressure for the gate and the afc at the same port on the afc.
