Default Adjustable Timing Pump Gear*

Well I just finished installing my new adjustable pump gear

This gear is keyed on the end of the p pump shaft and bolted on useing the same nut and washer as the stock gear. The huge plus of this is my timing can never slip and it takes 1/4 of the time to cange my timing.

here is the gear it self. as you can see it has 6 big allen bolts and 1 small allen. The big allen bolts are in a slot which when backed off allow the gear to turn while the pump stays in place. This way I do not have to brake the nut loose to change timing. The small allen is inserted into one of the many small holes on the inside of the gear, for every hole the timing is either advanced 2* or retarded 2*. When installing the gear I mounted it so I can run a max of 30* BTDC or a min of 2* ATDC.

To run one of these you will need to mod you timing cover. Basicly the oil hole needs to be bigger to be able to unscrew the allen head bolts

I know its not in the middle of the gear ( I mounted it wrong while mocking it up) but this is what I will have to work with when I want to change my timing.

They have been out for a few years ( that I know of) but they were always so much $$$ ( like 600+ for just the gear). Jesse of JD's diesel started makeing them with some minor changes for half the price.

It cost me $415 for the gear and the peice to mod the front cover, you will have to send Jesse your pump gear as a core. Main here is there web site
