I'm happy and not happy at the same time -- the truck came to me not in the condition it was said to be... ie. it wasn't drivable, although it IS a salvaged truck... AND during transit the front park lamps and headlight header panels ended up being busted by a brake check in the Walmart parking lot. AND the grill that was supposed to be on it.. apparently "didn't fit"

Also, the "high pressure/quality trans line hose" that was in place of the trans cooler that somehow got a hole it it was actually heater hose and is soft as can be. Apparently "during transit" the radiator to heater core line busted.. or should I say "rebusted" since it apparently was soldered back together, albiet not very well. Sooo, now I have to replace that line to keep the truck from over heating.

All of the front end coolers need replaced because they are ALL bent or heavily damaged (was told the front end frame and structure was straight and only needed a trans cooler), whether they hold air/water/freon or not and the front rad support is bent. Also, the fan and fan clutch were never changed and the "stolen mirror" was never installed. That along with the interior not being cleaned like I was told it was and the "good bedside" being damaged requiring an entirely new bed... well - I almost didn't buy it..


BUT - I did. I like the truck. I love the Chevy/GMC trucks and am PUMPED to have a diesel again.. although I dont know how long I will keep this particular truck

For now, my goal is to get the front end put back together and go from there... thank GOD for car-part.com and Ebay

Also, does anyone know if the Bully Dog Power Pup is any good?? it came with that and the monitor I think. Just curious!

 

its ok the power pup that is there is more agressize programs out there

 

i assume that you got it for a discount due to all the damage or whoever transported it to you is paying for the damages?

 

dang brant. if it wasnt bad enough the truck getting there 2 weeks later than he had told you, then more was wrong than he had said. but at least ur back behind a diesel instead of a gasser

 

yah - I didn't pay more than what I was originally.. Just annoying that people tell you one then when they know full well you will find out its not..

I ALMOST made him haul it all the way back to Iowa... hehe.. but I wanted a truck and I know I can fix it.. just gonna take a bit longer now!

I can't want to drive this bad boy (or sell it.. hehe )


edit: Ben - it was a salvaged vehicle - some of the things were expected... I asked a ton of questions, had it looked at for me, test drove for me, etc. He just blew some smoke on the phone.. and I called him out on it in person - and he's supposed to be sending me some cash to make up for a few things
