well in completion with my swap project and it being spring again im driving my truck alot more now and noticed that i still im getting air in the fuel from somewhere. took it to columbus diesel power not that long ago and had a overflow valve and rubber lines replaced from the firewall to the pump, fixed my low fuel pressure problem, but still after the truck sits unstarted for more then a day the start up is rough with it beginning to run fine then after a few seconds begins to run really rough and chug white smoke. resulting in me having to self prime the pump and restart it. now after it runs it will be fine with zero white smoke and no power loss till it sits for more then a day again with out being started.

additionally the truck sat all winter with periods of over two weeks without being started and upon returing home to plug it in and start it in below freezing temps it started right up with out a single problem, but once the warmer weather came it seems to do it again?

any thoughts? draw straw? the metal lines look great i mean the truck is a 96 and has never seen salt or a winter and gets washed every other day so its pretty much show room condition as far as that goes, zero rust on anything.

Could be leaking air at the fuel heater assembly or the primer pump also.Remove the rubber covering the primer and see if its wet under neath it,if so its allowing air in there.Also unplug the fuel heater assembly and if the plug is wet or melted(showing signs of heat)its leaking there also.

Another place thats notorious is on top of the fuel tank where the lines go into the fuel basket.They will dry rot and allow air to seep in thee also.

 

thanks ill look at the primer bulb its possible it could be leaking there
