The Hot+2 is a great tuner. You do need alot of supporting mods if you plan on trying to take full advantage of the unit. You can run up to the 160 hp tune and be relativiely safe. You would still have to be careful with how you drive of it could result in transmission failure.

The PPE is the best out of the Box Programmer for the Dmax. Like Tyler said above the higher settings require supporting mods. The biggest problem with running the High Settings is the Stock Transmission and stock Fuel System.

Agreed, the PPE is the ultimate plug and play for the Dmax, but the trans wont take the higher settings and your gona need a Lift Pump and maybe another CP3 to be able to get all the fuel that it can program

I have this tuner and this is what I have seen, after level 5 there is no point without a bigger turbo and or dual cp3 pumps. It is strong, at a min. You need a lift pump, shimmed fuel rail, ported fuel rail fittings, some tranny work, o yeah and some new u joints, well maybe that was just myt truck. The ppe hot demands fuel, its good and I like mine, but I want to upgrade to efi live.

the biggest thing I have seen with it, is with out alot of supporting mods on the higher settings, after you do a good wot run, it will throw a cel and put the truck into limp mode, I have put quite a few of them on trucks and really like them.
