Default Looking for some answers

Just installed an AFE intake and an MBRP exhaust (3in downpipe) on my 97 PS. The sound and performance are great but the fuel mileage now just sucks. My guess is that the computer is detecting more air and less restriction meaning more power and is dumping fuel. Is this something that would be fixed with a decent tune from a good tuner? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

you could be driving it diffrent now. i know i drive like a dumb *** for a while after i do something like that. a tuner should be be able to give you some mpg back.

ya lay off the right pedal , drive like a grandma, and see what happens, thats what i do.
i'll hot rod it around on one tank and get like 16mpg after doing a mod, and drive like a old lady on the next fill up and be back at 19.5mpg
