Default Jack storage

Do I store it with the valve closed (ready to pump) or do I store it with the valve open (pumping doesn't do anything)?

I have always stored them with the valve closed just a habit and have had no problems. But I am by no means and expert on the subject matter.

I guess I'm the oddball here. I always store all of them with the cylinders all te way down and the valve crack open so pressure doesn't build and push on the seals. Don;t know if it works any better or not but it makes sense to me.

I wish I could find some jacks like the military uses that are screw type jacks. They work ever time without all the headaches.

I guess I am the lazy one I store my jacks in which every way they end up sometimes closed sometimes open.
