Does anyone know what the idleing psi for oil on a 90 7.3? A couple days ago the oil pressure gauge started acting funny so I replaced the sending unit, and added a mechanical gauge. After the motor warms up and oil pressure on the dash is good, but on the mechanical gauge it drops to 10psi. Drive down the road and the pressure goes up like it should. Is 10psi idling right or is it too low?

 

normally 10 lbs per 1000 rpm is minimum.

i know at warm and idle mine has 20. 60 at gov.

 

Do you think it could be just the pump or something greater? I T'd the mechanical gauge off the sending unit on the turbo which feeds off the oil outlet on the lower drivers side next to the filter. Maybe this is a problem?
