Default Question about Diesel and advice

Iv been doing my research since last year, because i am interested in buying a desiel since i love how they sound and everything about them. I need some advice of which one to buy PSD or Cummings. Im not really going to do any towing, probly none at all, its just going to be a daily driving truck. What would you recommend?

I was also wondering how often desiel trucks have problems?
Like transmissions problems? ect.

around whats the best mileage to buy one at?

Ill have more question i just have to think about them.

which one should you buy which ever one you prefer and they all have there good points and they all have their flaws and far as mileage wise to me thats hard to figure to kinda depends on how much money you want to spend and what model or truck you like the higher the mileage less money and possibly more problems lower mileage more money possibly less problems and its cummins not cummings good luck and i hope YOU find what you want because thats what it boils down too

I know they all have there pros and cons, but in your opinion which one do you think would be the best in reliability overall and also with the tranny and everything, for a normal daily driver, I'm 18 years old, and love diesels but I would like to get one but not have problems with it that will cost me throusands, or constant problems,

All off them are great. all in preference. like stated above, they all got there flaws. I grew up a die hard chevrolet guy and ive had 2 dodges and 1 ford. The cummins seems to be the good fuel mileage engine and great power. you want more fuel youll most likely have to sacrifice fuel economy. The ford Rides great and the 7.3 gets fair fuel mileage. with the TS I got it really woke the truck up. fun to drive. But the ol 12v dodge is just easier to work on, less electronics = less headachs ( for the most part). It all depends on what you want to do with the truck.

I love how fords look, but then again I want the truck that can get the best mpg, and if I add a mod the mpg goes up easily. I also want one that I won't need to spend a lot of money repairing, one that's realiable and is strong( as in realiable strong )

I'm looking at a truck in the price range of maybe 13,000 and down if possible

I think that the Fords are pretty tough, confortable, and sharp lookin trucks. probably will get better mileage out of the dodge. This is a very touchy subject for alot of people. most people are brand loyal. id say just drive one of each and decide which one you want to own. All are great trucks. and they are all gonna cost you money sometime

well for 13,000 your getting a truck thats used and prob 120,000 miles +. not knowing the maintance records and the driving habbits ( most likely) so in all reality its gonna be a gamble. just what ever one you decide just pick it apart and look very closely at it. its gonna have to be your own call.
