Default too LB7 or not too LB7 ?

Hey newb here
looking for a truck but...

I dont know what to get... been raised on chev/gm, but kinda got the cummins itch...

looking at an LB7 tomorrow with 140,000 kms ... comes with a loaded 2002 chev... the price is right but i have been told to stay away from the LB7... the injectors havent gone yet (on the one i am looking at)... is it a ticking time bomb? once the injectors are changed is it more reliable? should i avoid it like the plague or is it a case of dont believe everything you read/hear

thanks guys

you should go here and read some of these posts and decide if thats what you want your the one thats gonna be driving it and bombing it and as long as it uses diesel for its power then that is what should make you happy Chevy/GMC Duramax 01-04 LB7 - Diesel Bombers

Personally I think you should buy whatever you want. Like said before, you are the one driving it and regardless of what you get, it will still have problems whether its a Chevy, Dodge, or Ford. Personally Im a Cummins fella but Chevys are nice trucks and I would definitely buy one with the new body style. I would buy a Powerstroke 7.3, 6.4, and am excited to see what the 6.7 does. But in the end its your choice. If you like your truck thats all that matters.

I had my injectors changed out at 90k miles . I did have #8 injector/injector bracket get loose on me @ 109k miles due to it wasnt torQed to spec. They are the 12valve of the duramaxs

There is many duramaxes out there with 200k+ miles who haven't even heard of an injector problem

I love my LB7! It is simpler then the newer ones with out the exhaust crap on it. I just wish it was a 6 speed. I have heard there will be loss of power and white smoke if injectors are going bad. There are lots that the injectors dont go bad. Its all in the truck.
