Hey fellas need a little help my truck runs great but on this last trip out of town on the way home truck seemed like it didnt have a lot of power and seemed like the engine was louder than usual and about an 1 hour from home it quit and started running like a stripped *** ape also if i use the truck daily it start fine but i let it sit for a week and it surges bad unless i give it throttle and help would be appreciated Thanks

 

I am a little confused on the description of how the truck was running, but I will throw this out there - has the truck been to Ford for the Cam sensor recall? If not start there.

To explain a little more in detail i pull a 10,000 pound toyhauler on my last trip with it the truck did fine on the way to are vacation but on the way home from the time i started the truck it just seemed to run like crap there way a loud spraying noise u can here when it runs right but it was just louder this time and on the way home about half way through the trip it quited down and ran like it normally does truck has dual 5 inch stacks the come off the factory 3 1/2 pipe no cat and no muffler just straight back thats it this is my first diesel and id hate to take it to ford if its something i could fix myself
