Question I need MPG

I need better mpg. How much an I looking at with a turbo back 5" and a smarty OR a xrt? I need to get away from the 8 to 10 mpg.

If I go with a 5" for a 04 to 07 5.9L, what do I have to do to make it work? do I need the plugs (like h&s) or do i need to weld in bungs for o2's? I was going to buy a kit for the 6.7L then some one told me that i can buy one of these cheeper. thank you

Yes a 04 exhaust will work without any Modifications. buy a smarty run it on level three and use it to tell your ECM that your DPF is deleted. you will just take the wires and stuff off and leave it hanging under the truck. and a intake and you will get about 20 Miles to the gallon.

Yep, 04.5 to 07 will work, that's what I got. Smarty or (Jr) with ME software, and an XRT/Blackmaxx will get the job done. You don't need any plugs/foolers. I have plugs just to keep road grime and rain etc out of the sensors but they're not needed.

Yes, what everyone said above is correct, the cheapest way to go is the 04.5+ exhaust and a tuner, 18-20 will be achieved very easy, also look into deleting the egr system as well, it will help with the mpg a little and save you problems down the road. But that is up to you.

The box my Exhaust hit came in said 04 and i ordered an 08 kit i was pissed so i called them and they said its the exact same. they cant make a straight pipe kit fr the 6.7L due to the emissions **** and laws. I ran my truck with my EGR just bypassed for a couple months then fully deleted it only 120$ butnot even worth that made absolutely no difference on nothing Power,MPG not even smoke. Just my experience

You will have to have some type of chip to delete the DPF. Smarty, Smarty Jr, XRT, Black Maxx or Edge Juice with Attitude.

Would you rather have all that exhaust crap in your engine? I think you'll dig the results of your EGR blockers.

If you're going to be a cheapskate you need to get the exhaust sims (40 bucks)to turn off your regens and maybe a code reader to clear codes once a week or so.
