i just bought my 06 dodge ram 2500 cummins with the 48re automatic transmission with 41k miles and i'm interested in putting a programmer in the truck but am worried about the transmission. Can the stock transmission hold up to the power a programmer would put out? and if not what should i do to the transmission so that it could??

any help would be greatly appreciated

 

I would put a Smarty Jr. on there and yout tranny would be just fine. Then maybe down the road when you upgrade the tranny some then upgrade to the Smarty Sr.
