California Emissions have done it again!
I am so glad i don't live in Cali! Just heard that they passed into effect as of today. ALL Diesel pickups will have to now pass the tests.
Automatic failure if- Engine has an aftermarket chip of any kind, aftermarket exhaust or intake, CEL on, and if the smoke is to great.
This is just a partial list. But judging by EVERYTHING on here. Cali is screwed. I would have to put like $5k in parts back into mine just to make it legal to license there.
Any one here any more on this?

It has nothing to do with global warming. It has more to do with the massive layer of smog that many of us get to live under for 300 days out of the year. It also has plenty to do with revenue collecting and zealous smokers.
California is not the first state to have smog testing for Diesels by a long shot.
And, the standards they've come out with so far are so lenient and vague it should be easy to circumvent if you so desire.

have a look at this they wont run them on a dyno or anything so when you go just turn the truck down it seems to be a pretty simple test and and kinda up to the test shop on what they think.
