Diesel For Lawn Mower??
I have a Jon Deere SST. These are zero turn units that look like a small garden tractor, but the front wheels are casters. There are many nay-sayers about these, but mine has done the work of a small tractor and is holding up well. This mower uses a OHV 18HP Briggs. It is a V twin in a vertical shaft configuration. It is a good engine, but except for this mower, my push mower, and a small truck my fleet is diesel. I want to keep just one fuel around. Without 'braking the bank' is there a vertical shaft diesel make that I might be able to put in this for under $2000?
I think a 15HP diesel would put out as much as the current 18HP gas.
