Default Flashed

If I order a Smarty for 6.7l 07.5 that was flashed for high idle and other stuff, that they won't tell me about. will I possible be locked out? Or is it after you have had smarty installed on your truck and then then flashed (possible with the bootloader software) then you get locked out?? Somebody needs to expain this to a newbie when it comes to programmers. Thanks.

Smarty has the high idle program installed. If you got the boot loader flash, it may not work.

They cant flash the bootloader on your ecm. If the truck didnt have the bootloader from the factory , then they cant FLASH it on there. If they flash your truck and the smarty doesnt work, then you just need to update the smarty.

Call me crazy but even if it was on there how long do you think it would take Markus and Bob to figure out how to get around it? I'm thinking about 1 month.

Don't be too worried.

Magram, the reason they wont tell you exactly what the flash was all about is, THEY DONT KNOW. Most, not all , tech couldnt tell you much about a new flash. They just see a computer screen that says a new flash is available. Just because they enabled your high idle and updated the flash, doesnt mean the smarty wont work properly. MADS has been on top of the smarty thus far. They have been very helpful to us smarty users when a new flash has arrived. As of now the only problems are with the newer 09s that came out with the bootloader on it from the factory. Since you have an 07.5 , there has been alot of testing and info about the smarty on this year. Good Luck...
