Default cummins pump swap

I have a B series Cummins from a Ford medium duty chassis with a cva pump and have also acuired a bosch pump for the same engine and am lookin for some info on timing. The cva pump is bad and I believe the bosch to be the better pump anyway. When I pulled the bosch I didnt find any locating key or keyway in the drive gear. I have not pulled the other pump yet, but dont expect to find any keyway there either. I am hoping for some advice on getting the timing set so that when I set this motor in my medium duty IH I wont have any starting issues without having to tear the whole motor apart. thx

Welcome.

Got to be honest - most of us are familiar with the 5.9 Cummins in the pickups. Hopefully, some of the mechanics here will be able answer your questions.

Thx for the welcome, I may be new here but I aint new to diesel engines. Been playin with them since HS. This motor on the other hand has got me a bit confused. I know that Cummins had this particular engine line mfgd in Brazil and labeled them special for Ford to use in thier med duty trks, my landlord has one in a F-800. However, this is my first time swappin pumps and I was quite suprised to find a lack of timing key in the drive gear. The Bosch pump does have a keyway in its stub shaft, but I'm worried that the drive gear in my engine dont. I'm thinkin I might need to get with Southern Plains and pick some brains there. The weather is against me for now so th project is on hold but, I'm tryin to gather info fro when the weather breaks. I still need to get that boat anchor of a 7.3 outta the trk also. Thats when the real fun will begin. Again thx for yalls hospitality and input, I expect to be around awhile.
