glow plugs check out with a test light new glow plug controller wait to start light comes on like it should and when the wait to start light goes off the relay starts clicking on and off you can watch the volt guage jump back and forth it will do that about 6-8 times then the relay will shut off and the truck wont start little smoke coming out the pipes while cranking got power coming to the fuel solenoid on injector pump what could it be any ideas

 

you need to ohm those glow plugs they may be getting power but they arent any good my old 7.3 didnt start when glow plugs were bad the solinoid is doing right mine did the same thing my suggestion to you is replace the glow plugs you have some that are bad

 

i'll order up some glow plugs the ones in it are old.... One more thing i hooked a chain to it and pulled it my foot wasn't even off the clutch pedal and it fired up.. This morning before i tried cranking it i put my meter on the batteries and got 12.3 volts should i have more volts than that?? Are the batteries bad maybe.. I can put my meter on them with it running and get like 14.2 volts

 

no they are fine 14.2 is the altenator also was your foot all the way to the floor on the clutch or partiallly

 

i pushed the pedal all the way to the floor then dumped the clutch once it was rolling

 

truck is running put new glow plugs in and new batteries fires right up
