Default Help!! 2000 24v acting strange

Drove the truck this morning and it was acting weird. The check engine light came on. Never has before. Then while driving the tach kept going off and on until i got it above 45 mph. Then at the red lights it would hick up. Not a horrible one but you could hear and feel it. It has never done that before. Im afraid it might be something with the fuel system. It has an air dog 100 on it thats been on there for a year and i have never had a problem with it. It has new filters on it (within the last 2 months new). Any help would be great. I dont know where to start. Im taking it to autozone to use thier code readier to see if it kicks any at me. PLEASE someone help!! Thanks guys!
