silencer ring
You can, but I've heard you have to break dowels and other things... Also I've heard it'll cause a decrease in performance because on the 6.7's the ring helps direct airflow. I wouldn't mess with it... Just MHO though.
The silencer ring is just that, a silencer. Dodge has them put on to make the engine as quiet and "non-diesel" sounding as possible for their customers.

Is this the pin that needs to be drilled out for the ring to be removed? Where is it located at on the turbo if i was to look under the hood? can it be drilled with the turbo still in the truck? Just asking.

Yes, thats the pin that must be drilled out. Its easiest just to remove the whole compressor housing.
I had bought one for my Mercedes, but it turns out the HE351 is basically an HX40 which is way too large for my power goals.
