A question for all you Chevy 6.5 guys. I am looking at a Tahoe with 180,000 miles on it. He has replaced this year the "Fuel Injection Pump, Glow plugs, Pump Mounted Driver, Lift Pump, Fuel lines, Front Ball Joints." He says it runs real good, and the body looks nice. I am looking for a reliable, inexpensive 4X4 diesel SUV for some highway driving this winter. What do you guys think? He is asking $5,000.

depends on the body but thats a good deal considering i got my truck for 5800 and the only thing semi new is the injection pump on my truck. my truck does have 144,250 miles though so i gotta little less miles with the updated interior. lower it 4600 and see if he bites. anymore questions just ask

I got mine for $5.000.. with 105.000 miles on the body, and with a new drop in motor from Chevy..and that had 18000 miles on it when i got the truck.

Your also going to want to relocate the PMD/ FSD to the bumper to help keep it cool.

thats what is recomended but i know guys that are at 230k with stock injectors. personally im at 143k with factory injectors but i will be replacing soon since i do get a good dose of white smoke at start up. basically all injectors are different and the way you drive is a big factor

yeah the 6.5s are pretty well agreed on think about replacing them at 100k though, some have even come apart in the chamber. I had 160 on mine when I replaced them. gained almost 4 mpg.
