Default 6.5L Having Issues

A couple days ago I was driving on the highway, dropped to 4th gear, manual trans, going up hill and the truck kinda hiccuped twice. When I went to pull out after that I realized that I had no boost at all, the turbo wasn't spooling. Shut it off when I dropped my friend off and it started right back up and drove with boost all the way home. I tried this again on the highway and it hiccuped a couple times but I didn't lose the turbo this time. It doesn't do it all of the time and I only lost the turbo the first time it happened. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be? This would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

P.S. sorry for the long post, just wanted to get all of the details up the first time.

the pmd is in the stock location. I would imagine that it smoked black since i was getting no boost; however, it was dark out so i could not tell. I don't have a check engine light so I didn't try to read any codes. I will take a look and see if I get any codes this weekend.

Thanks again

check vacuum line going to wastegate, make sure there is indeed vacuum. There's also a solenoid IIRC on the vacuum line that could be giving you grief.

I'll check the lines this weekend. I can tell I have no boost because I can't hear my turbo spooling up. The tremendous decrease in power that night could be something else, but since I couldn't hear the turbo thats what I assumed it was. Boost gauge is on the list, as well as egt.

Thanks again.

Didn't get a chance to check the vacuum lines yet; however, I did get a chance to scan it. Getting two intermittent codes, po236 and po238. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Also, does the 238 code mean I definately need at new boost sensor, or could it be something else.

Thanks

its hard to tell unless you check the vacuum pump and lines. that code is for performance of the sensor not malfunction so who knows.

Vacuum pump and lines are fine, checked before and after the solenoid. Not really sure where to check next.
