Exclamation Recall Notice Mopar Steering Linkage

Sorry if this is a repost.
2003-2009 Dodge P/U
During a prior service appt, a Mopar service parts steering linkage may have been installed on your truck. The drag link inner joint may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a crash without warning! Also the steering damper bracket at the tie rod tube may loosen. This could cause the bracket to slide on the tube and may cause increased vehicle turning radius.

Dodge will fix your truck free of charge, Make sure dealer has parts in stock or to order the parts.

dont waste your time if your truck doesnt need it; apparnetly it was for only certain style drag links; if your steering stabilizer bolts thru the drag link then there is no recall; however if it utilizes the bracket with the U clamps to secure it then the recall is applicable... otherwise the dealship will just tell you to whizz up a rope

Actually, it depends on if the replacement u-bolt bracket is 15mm bolts. Some of the early dealer parts came with smaller, inferior hardware.

Default Yeah mine broke

I had just got done hauling a 30' camper that was loaded like a storage shed for a friend of mine and I no sooner pulled into the town I live in and the linkage had a crack and dropped the ball on the passenger side. Took it to the dealer for repair and got home, the recall was in the mailbox. Dealer said nothing about it till I called about the card. Apparently the recall is for a replacement linkage that may get installed at dealerships. I just happened to get mine changed around 16000 miles and got a bum one. The irony is they changed out the good factory one because they couldn't figure out a strange "bump" like feed back I was getting through my steering when the truck gets warmed up (especially when it's really hot out).
