Returned my 6.7 to stock because of the AC was hasn't blowing cold air and took it to the dealership.

They fixed the AC and also updated the PCM per TSB 1802409 and now my Smarty 6.7ME reads "error unknown software" when I try to reinstall.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how I can get around it? My truck runs like crap in this stock form. I need my smarty?

man thats a tough one . i dont know. did you not know they could lock pcm out so smarty wont work. i just called techs and they said not to try and load smarty. they said it could crash your truck computer. marco is still working on trying to fig dodge lockout but hasnt yet. smarty will not work on anything newer than march 09 or one that has had that flash. you might see if dealer can put a older flash in but i dont know if that will work.

everybody that has a 07.5 , 08 and early 09. if you ever plan on putting a smarty on your truck dont let dealer flash your truck with the lockout flash or your done. they tell me that marco is working on it but dont know when. please tell everybody that has one.

I was told that all dealerships that get trucks in have been instructed to flash trucks, and when they do, no more programmers will work.

 

sounds like your screwed. that blows. i have heard of this before also. get use to the stock feeling for a little bit. i am sure someone will figure something out, just gotta hang in there.

i think marco will fig it out in time. i am going to get in touch with all my customers that i sold too so they can look out for this.

 

Stealerships have put me in a pinch.

Does anyone out there work for a dealership? Can I send my PCM to you to have it reflashed? Is that even an option?

My truck was awesome and now it is ...well ... pitifull.

Learned my lesson- I think...

What sucks is that I had a great relationship with the shop manager at my regular dodge service center but it has not closed so I had to take it to a new one.
