Holset Turbo... HELP!
Does anyone know if you can set up a compound system by adding and HX40 to the existing HE351? If so what would it take.
I pulled my HX40 out of my '02 when I rolled it and was wanting to put it to use.

I got a question about my turbo. Its a holset that I bought off ebay. THe guy said it was a hx30. The holsets i have seen hava snap ring that holds the compressor housing on. Mine has a few metal bar type things that hold it on with bolts. Does anyone know if I could replace the housing with the hx35 housing and wheels and use a snap ring instead

hx40 would not be a good mesh with your he351. They flow almost the same and you would just be complicating your setup. I would suggest to decide how much boost you want- and get an appropriate turbo to reach that level. Also, the stock head gasket on the 2006 should be good to 40-50lbs of boost- above that need head studs. Remember the turbo is the most restrictive item on your whole engine - free up some flow and the dyno will become your friend.
