Take the vin to the dealer and have them run a service record check to see what all warranty work has been done. If the warranty work was all emissions related and he's doing the deletes any way I'd say go for it. But you might find other problems to. The 6.7 is a great motor I'm loving mine except for that regen mode that likes to really pop up when I have a 1/4 tank and I'm trying to stretch it till the end of the week. That's when my 20mpg goes to 10mpg.

When driving in town, tell him to keep it out of overdrive and to run the engine brake at all times. Do not idle for long periods and use the high idle feature, if he must idle at all. My '07 has only been back to the dealer only twice, since I bought it new in January of '08, once for the firewall pad recall and once for a reflash. It has 60,000+ kms on it, about half of which was towing.
