buddy is going to look at a ram 3500 6.7l in nj. the truck has 29,000 miles on it is there anything we should look fore on these new 6.7l. if he does get it he is deleting everything off of it.


can one one help me out here what to look from on these new motor or what to watch out for

Take the vin to the dealer and have them run a service record check to see what all warranty work has been done. If the warranty work was all emissions related and he's doing the deletes any way I'd say go for it. But you might find other problems to. The 6.7 is a great motor I'm loving mine except for that regen mode that likes to really pop up when I have a 1/4 tank and I'm trying to stretch it till the end of the week. That's when my 20mpg goes to 10mpg.:argh:

he got the truck and likes it alot better than his ford 6.0

When driving in town, tell him to keep it out of overdrive and to run the engine brake at all times. Do not idle for long periods and use the high idle feature, if he must idle at all. My '07 has only been back to the dealer only twice, since I bought it new in January of '08, once for the firewall pad recall and once for a reflash. It has 60,000+ kms on it, about half of which was towing.
