Default Valve Spring Replacement

my 60lb valve springs are gunna be hear tommorow and i didnt know if i can just rent your everyday valve spring compressor or if you need a speacial one. i know how to rotate the engine for tdc and all that good stuff.
i just want some tips or advice to change them out nice and smooth.
and any tips on installing the 4k kit are welcome to!

you can get the valve spring compressor from harbor freight for about $15. once you get the #1 and at TDC #6 is there also. pop the spring off to get the keepers out and the valve wont fall into the cylander becasue the pistons are at the top. rotate the crank 120* (correct me if im wrong) to get the #2 and #5 close to TDC then rotate another 120* to get the #3 and #4 at TDC its a farly easy operation to do

i dont have a harbor freight in my area. im just gunna pick up one from autozone.
and how do the cylinders appear?
#1 front of truck #6 rear?

ya the first cylander #1 and last #6 are always at the same hieght as is #2 and #5, then #3 and #4

Good luck with the autozone compressor they aren't worth the crappy steel they stamp em out of. Go to napa and get the kd tools compressor or you'll never get 5 and 6 without pullin your motor

Haven't done the valve springs on mine yet.. I just did the 3k gsk last friday - pretty easy, just make sure you get a decent pencil magnet and vernier calipers - makes it alot easier! other than that, just follow the directions in the box :P.

well i dont have the calipers..
i do have the magnet tho

does anyone one the torque specifications of the bolts on the rocker arms?
any tips on removing then or the springs?

the big bolts are supposed to be the same as the rest of the head bolts i belive there 89ft-lbs +90* but im used to torquing my studs to 150ftlbs so i may be wrong
